To the Boy Who Changed Everything: First Day of Big School 🎒
And just like that, the "baby" years have officially closed their chapter. Today, I dropped my one and only, Orlando, off for his first day of primary school.
I’ll be honest—I’m a bit of a mess. 😪 There’s a specific kind of quiet in the house now that feels heavy. It feels like only yesterday I was holding him for the first time, wondering how I’d ever navigate being a parent. Now, I’m standing on the sidewalk watching a backpack with legs walk toward a giant gate.
The Parent "Rollercoaster"
If you’ve been through this, you know the feeling is a wild mix of:
• Heartbreak: Letting go of the little boy who needed me for every tiny thing.
• Pride: Seeing him stand tall, ready to take on the world (even if his uniform is a little too big).
• Fear: Hoping the world is as kind to him as he is to it.

Orlando, I am so excited for the person you are becoming. ✨Hi everyone! I’m Sarah, the founder of Creative Amoré, and I am so thrilled to officially introduce myself to this wonderful community.
If I’m being honest, I’ve spent much of my life as a classic perfectionist and high achiever. With 18 years of competitive dance and two decades in the professional fitness industry, I’ve always been driven to push harder and do more. But as many of you know, that "go-go-go" mindset eventually takes its toll.
For me, the real challenge hasn’t just been mastering a Reformer—it’s been finding true balance.
Creative Amoré was born from that personal shift. After navigating my own battles with body image and disordered eating in my younger years, I realised that fitness shouldn’t be about punishment or "perfection." It’s the physical manifestation of my path toward self-love & vitality!

I’ve poured that passion into creating a space where we focus on moving our bodies with kindness, alignment, and mental clarity.
These days, my life is a beautiful, chaotic juggle. Between running the business and teaching Pilates, I am a mum to my incredible 5-year-old boy. I’m right there in the trenches of the work-life-parenting mental load, trying to find my own "centre" while making sure lunchboxes are packed and the Vagus nerve is actually regulated!
What I bring to our community:
🧘‍♀️ The Technical Stuff: I’m a corrective exercise therapist, fitness lecturer, PT and professional Pilates instructor (Mat & Reformer). I’m a total nerd about body mechanics—helping you move better so you feel better.
🌬️ Mindset & Breathwork: I’m a huge advocate for using breathwork and journaling to find your "peace era"—tools that helped me transition from a stressed perfectionist to a more grounded version of myself.
🎉 Pilates & Parties: I love bringing people together! Whether it’s a focused 6-week challenge or a "Pilates Party" for a milestone birthday, I’m all about celebrating the journey.
🙌🏽My mission is to help busy women and mums reclaim their strength and foster an unwavering sense of self-worth. I want us to move because we love our bodies, not because we’re trying to "fix" them.

Last night, we had our fun with the playful scares of Halloween—all costumes, candy, and spooky chaos!
Today, November 1st, we transition to a deeper, more beautiful tradition: Día de los Muertos. This is not a time for fear, but a joyful festival to honour and remember our loved ones who have passed.
We swap out cobwebs for marigolds, and celebrate the unbreakable bond between the living and the dead.

For 18 years, I've had the privilege of being a part of the fitness industry. It’s a career that has taken me on an incredible journey, and along the way, I've worn many hats. From being a personal trainer and group fitness instructor to managing a reformer studio, personal training mentoring & managing and lecturing across multiple private institutions, each role has been a building block.
I’ve had the opportunity to design and create a Pilates course, assess students as they begin their own careers in fitness, first aid and pilates, and even serve as an expert witness in medical-legal cases.

A key player in knee rehab is the vastus medialis obliquus (VMO), or the "teardrop" muscle on the inner part of your thigh. When this muscle is weak, it can throw off your knee's alignment and lead to pain.
Strengthening your VMO helps stabilise your kneecap and can be a game-changer for getting back to the activities you love. Exercises like terminal knee extensions and quadriceps isometrics are excellent for targeting this muscle.
Always remember to listen to your body and work with a physical therapist to ensure you're doing the exercises correctly and safely. Your knees will thank you!

This job has taught me so much, not just about fitness, but about people and about myself. I've learned that consistency is more important than perfection and that small victories are worth celebrating. I've also learned that my job is to create a space where people feel safe to be themselves—to be strong, to be vulnerable, and to be a little wobbly sometimes.

Let's talk about something cool: your muscles don't "know" the actual weight you're lifting! 🤯 They simply respond to signals from your brain. This all comes down to motor units – groups of muscle fibers activated by a single nerve.
When you lift something, your brain decides how many motor units to recruit and how fast to fire them to generate the right force.
Here's a tip I use in my Pilates classes all the time
✨️Instead of just moving through the motions, pretend you're pushing against thick water during an exercise!
🤍That mental cue helps you actively engage more muscle fibers (recruit more motor units!) even if there's no actual heavy weight.

This is 36, and I'm officially in my peace era. Been sick all week, but grateful for a day away with Alba Massage, Dinner & Hot Mat Pilates 🎂

✨️Calm: More moments of stillness and quiet, finding peace in the everyday.
✨️Slow mornings: Savouring that first cup of coffee and easing into the day without a rush.
✨️Caring friends: Deepening connections with those who uplift and support me.
✨️Boundaries: Honouring my needs and protecting my energy.
✨️Creative flow: Making more time for passions that ignite my spirit.
